The families of the San Diego County Estates are respectfully requesting the Barona Band of Mission Indians be the good neighbor they claim to be, and simply move their track away from our homes.
Over the past 20 years, the motorcycle track that was created for young riders has gradually evolved into a full blown Motocross Sports Center that has more than quadrupled in size. These tracks, which now allow motorcycles as large as 530 cc to race, are located just a few yards from hundreds of homes which are directly affected by the noise, dust and pollution.
In addition, the Barona Speedway that has been added just across the street equals the noise and pollution levels of the motorcross facility. With both these venues operating along with the recently added paintball park , (each of which have their own public address systems) the residents are ensured of being subjected to extremely unhealthy levels of noise and air pollution from 9 am to midnight and beyond.
We are respectfully asking the Barona Band of Mission Indians, which allows these tracks to operate within feet of our homes, to simply relocate the tracks to another area within the almost 6000 acres of the Barona Indian Reservation, where there is plenty of room.
It is our hope that the Barona Band of Mission Indians will meet with our local government, which has already offered to assist in any way in relocating the track away from our homes. The government of the United States and the residents are asking that the Barona Band of Mission Indians work with us to provide a permanent solution to this issue that is devastating our families and destroying our homes.
The Barona Band of Mission Indians are known for their generous spirit and kind hearts and we are confident the Barona Band of Mission Indians will rise to the call of their neighbors in need.
